Some kind of freedom. The Mermaid Doodle Mule from Brother Vellies is handmade in Mexico using fair trade practices and collaborating with skilled artisans. The right mule features clam shells, mermaids and a yin yang while it's left counterpart dons doves, forget-me-nots and a banner reading "Some Kind of Freedom". Each shoe is uniquely different as the leather retains it's marks and imperfections, no pair is the same.
Heel height is 1.5 inches. Mules are true to size and offer a high instep.
Brother Vellies was founded by Aurora James with the goal of introducing the rest of the world to her favorite traditional African footwear, while also creating and sustaining artisanal jobs within Africa. Handmade in South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya and Morocco, Brother Vellies creates boots, shoes, sandals and handbags in styles that maintain the spirit and durability of their ancestral counterparts. Using eco-conscious chrome-free leather and animal by-product hides, their vegetable-tanned leather changes in color with age and wear and all hides are unique. Consistency in color and volume will vary from pair to pair making each shoe and bag a personal, ethical fashion statement.
